
Since its beginnings in York, Pennsylvania in 1936, The Flinchbaugh Company, Inc. had only two generations of ownership in almost 70 years – fostering a legacy of continuity and stability.
In February 2005, Gregory Jenkins and Kurt Weber – businessmen local to the York, Pennsylvania area acquired The Flinchbaugh Company and have embraced this legacy and the qualities of the company, while systematically modernizing it.
Gregg and Kurt recognized that the future lay in continuous improvement and systematic investment to focus on the changing demands of customers. The business and its resources have been overhauled with this philosophy in mind, and capital resources are aligned with the needs of strategic customers.
In December 2006, a new era began when The Flinchbaugh Company acquired another respected machining company in York County, G. Kurtz Industries, which had a fully complementary customer base. The new company created is doing business as Flinchbaugh-Kurtz Company and combines the best experience and state-of-the-art equipment from both companies at a modern facility in Manchester, Pennsylvania.
Gregg and Kurt are both day-to-day hands-on owners, whose career experience influences the company in many ways. Both are committed to the objective of satisfied customers, who can completely trust Flinchbaugh-Kurtz Company for production and timely delivery of high quality products.
Gregg began his career in manufacturing at Flinchbaugh Products in York County, Pennsylvania in 1979. He progressed through roles as a machine operator and supervisor to SPC Engineer, General Foreman, Manager, and finally Operations Superintendent. He has experience in machining, milling, assembly, paint, forging, heat treating, injection molding, and plating.
Gregg worked for Handy and Harman from 1999 as Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations in England, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. In 2005, he acquired The Flinchbaugh Company with business partner, Kurt Weber. Gregg is President of the company and takes responsibility for operations and finance.
Married since 1980 with three daughters, Gregg has been a resident of the York County region since 1969, when his father moved to work for Caterpillar, Inc. He holds degrees in business and management from York College and Eastern College.
Kurt has been a York County resident his entire life, working almost exclusively throughout a 25-year career in sales and marketing for local and national companies. He has held sales positions with York Graphic Services, Schnell Publishing Group, and Reed Elsevier, where he had responsibility for domestic and international advertising sales for eight trade publications, three directories, conferences, and digital marketing.
Prior to acquiring The Flinchbaugh Company with business partner Gregory Jenkins in 2005, Kurt was National Sales Director for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Kurt is Executive Vice President and has responsibility for sales and marketing for both Flinchbaugh-Kurtz Company and its subsidiary, Apple Archery LLC.
Kurt has a degree from the University of Delaware in communications with a minor in political science, has been married since 1982 and has two daughters.
